Leads: what your assistant collects, and how to change it
A lead is a customer's contact details, collected by your assistant partway through a conversation. Leads lists everyone it's collected; Lead settings is where you turn collection on or off and choose what it asks for.
Who does what
| Who | What they do |
|---|---|
| You | Turn lead capture on or off and choose which questions to ask, on Lead settings. |
| Your assistant | Notices when a customer shows buying interest, asks for the details naturally in the conversation, and saves them here once it has enough to. |
| Agentech | Tells the workspace owner the moment a new lead comes in, the ways they ticked under Alerts in Settings (their devices, Telegram, email). |
The Leads list
Every captured lead, newest first, showing:
- Date the details were collected.
- Customer — the channel and who they are (a website visitor is labelled by their session, since they have no name on file).
- Details — every field your assistant collected, as chips (e.g.
name: Sara, phone: +201012345678). - View conversation — opens the exact conversation this lead came from, in the Inbox.
If lead capture is switched off, a banner says so at the top with a link to turn it back on, and the list only shows whatever was captured while it was on. With nothing captured yet, the page says so — once your assistant collects a customer's details, they show up here.
Lead settings
Open Lead settings from the Leads page (or go to /leads/setup).
- Collect contact info from interested customers — the on/off switch for the whole feature. Turned off, your assistant never asks, and nothing new arrives on the Leads page.
- With it on, you get a list of questions your assistant asks — up to 4. The two defaults are name and phone, and they work out of the box; edit their wording, remove them, or add your own (e.g. "Which model are you interested in?").
- Each question has a Required checkbox. Required fields are the minimum your assistant needs before it counts a customer as a captured lead — it still asks about every question you've set up, required or not, just doesn't hold up saving the lead on the optional ones.
- Add field is disabled once you have 4. Click Save lead settings when you're done.
This applies on your connected channels — Messenger, Telegram, WhatsApp — and the website widget.
How a lead actually gets captured
Your assistant doesn't show a form. When a customer shows interest in doing business — asking about prices, availability, booking an appointment, ordering, visiting, or how to proceed — it starts asking for your configured fields conversationally, one at a time, the same way a person would. That includes a customer's very first message, even a short pre-filled one from an ad such as "I want to book".
It answers first and asks in the same reply. If your assistant's instructions say bookings are by phone, for example, it still gives the customer the number and then asks for their details — your own booking route doesn't switch lead capture off.
It asks about every field you've set up, including the optional ones, not just the required ones. It only saves the lead once it actually has the values the customer gave for at least the required fields — it never invents or guesses one — and it asks once per conversation. If a customer declines to share a detail, the assistant respects that and moves on.
On WhatsApp, it usually doesn't ask for the phone number. The customer is already writing from it, so your phone field is filled in with their WhatsApp number when the lead is saved. If they type a different number to call them on, that one is kept instead. The exception is a customer who uses a WhatsApp username and hasn't shared their number with you: WhatsApp doesn't give us their number, so the assistant asks for it like on any other channel.
Following up with a lead
There's no separate export from this page today. To follow up, click View conversation and reply from the Inbox — or use whatever contact details you asked for (phone, email, etc.) with your own tools.
