What we offer: the list your assistant says yes to
The What we offer page (in the Setup section of the left menu, right after Knowledge Base) holds a short list of your services and product families, one line each. Your assistant reads it before every chat reply. As the page says: "Your assistant says yes only to what's on this list. If a customer asks for anything else, it tells them you don't offer it yet and suggests what you do."
You don't have to write it from scratch: the assistant drafts it from your Knowledge Base and your business description on the Assistant page, and you fix what it got wrong.
Who does what
| Who | What they do |
|---|---|
| You | Check the draft, add what's missing, fix or remove what's wrong, and press Draft again when you want a fresh draft. |
| Your assistant | Drafts the list from your knowledge base and business description. In chats, says yes to what's on the list and tells a customer you don't offer anything else yet, suggesting what you do. |
| Agentech | Drafts the list again when your knowledge base or business description changes (until you edit it), never replaces your own items, keeps the list within its limits, and refuses lines that read like orders to the assistant. Drafting doesn't use your plan's messages. |
What the list does for replies
- A customer asks for something on the list. The assistant answers from your knowledge base. A line covers everything in the family it names: "Samsung phones and accessories" covers every Samsung model, so you don't list models one by one. If your knowledge base has no details about it, the assistant says yes, you offer it, and hands the details to your team instead of making them up.
- A customer asks for something that isn't on the list. The assistant tells them you don't offer it yet and suggests the closest thing you do. It never turns something that's only similar into a yes.
- A customer describes their own business or plans ("I sell notebooks online"). That isn't a request, so the list isn't applied and the assistant doesn't tell them you don't make notebooks.
- There's no list (a new workspace, a draft that failed, or you removed every item). The assistant doesn't say "we don't offer that". It hands questions it can't place to your team, as it always has.
The list is used for chat replies on your channels and the website widget. Replies to comments on your posts don't read it yet.
Writing a good line
- One service or product family per line, in your business's own language: "Teeth whitening", "Samsung phones and accessories", "WhatsApp campaigns to your own customer list".
- Name the family, not each product. Prices, models and details stay in your knowledge base and on the Products page.
- Say the limits that matter. The assistant keeps to what a line says about who it reaches, who does the work and where. "Delivery inside Cairo" lets it say no to delivery to Alexandria; "Delivery" doesn't.
- Limits: up to 30 items, 120 characters each, and 1,500 characters for the whole list. The count at the top of the list ("12 of 30") shows where you are.
How the draft works
The assistant reads the names of your knowledge base sources, the start of each one, your product names (names only) and your business description, and writes one line per service or product family, in the language your knowledge base is written in.
- When it drafts: about 10 minutes after your knowledge base changes (a source finishes processing, is refetched or deleted, or a product is added or removed) or you save a different business description. Workspaces that already had a knowledge base when this page arrived got a first draft on their own.
- What it read: the panel at the top says Drafted by the assistant · [date and time] and, for example, "Read 4 sources, 9 product names and your business description." Press Show to see each source by name.
- Before you edit it: the panel says "Until you change it, the assistant drafts it again when your knowledge base or business description changes." Each new draft replaces the list.
- Once you add, change or remove an item: automatic drafts stop. The panel says "You've edited it, so it isn't redrafted on its own any more. Items marked Yours are never replaced."
- Draft again: press Draft again whenever you want a fresh draft. The confirmation (Draft the list again?) says how many items it will replace: it replaces only the items the assistant wrote, and your items marked Yours stay as they are. It usually takes under a minute, and you can leave the page; a message tells you when the list is ready. You can press it once every 5 minutes.
- No list yet: the page says No list yet and "Until you have a list, the assistant hands questions it can't place to your team." Press Draft from my knowledge base, or start typing under Or add items yourself. A list you wrote yourself that was never drafted shows Not drafted by the assistant yet and a Draft button.
Adding, changing and removing items
- Add: type in Add a service or product and press Enter (or Add). Paste several lines at once to add each one.
- Change: tap an item's text, edit it, and press Save (or Cancel).
- Remove: press × next to the item.
Each change saves on its own; there's no Save button for the page. Items you add or change are marked Yours. Blank lines and repeats are left out without a message.
The assistant said we don't offer something we do
It isn't on the list, or the line that should cover it is too narrow.
Fix: add a line naming it, or its family, on What we offer. If a line is close but narrower ("iPhone screen repair" when you also fix Samsung screens), change it to cover both.
The assistant agreed to something we don't do
A line on the list covers it, or reads wider than you meant.
Fix: find the line that covers it and remove it, or narrow it to what you really do ("Delivery" → "Delivery inside Cairo"). Check your knowledge base doesn't say you do it either.
The assistant hands questions to my team instead of answering
With no list, the assistant can't tell what you don't offer, so it hands those questions to your team.
Fix: open What we offer and press Draft from my knowledge base, or add your items yourself.
Errors
"Keep each item to 120 characters or fewer ([N] of 120)."
Shown under the box while you type; Add and Save stay off. (When you paste lines, the same limit reads "Keep each line to 120 characters.")
Fix: shorten the line. Keep details in your knowledge base; the line only needs to name the service or product family.
"The list already has 30 items. Remove one to add another."
The list is full. While it is, the add box is off and says "The list has 30 items. Remove one to add another."
Fix: remove an item you don't need, or merge several lines into one family line ("Lattes", "Cappuccinos" → "Espresso drinks").
"Keep the list to 30 items."
You pasted more lines than fit.
Fix: paste fewer lines, or merge some into family lines first.
"Keep the whole list to 1,500 characters. Shorten or remove a few items."
The whole list has a 1,500-character limit as well as the 120 per item. (When you paste lines, it reads "…Shorten or remove a few lines.")
Fix: shorten long lines or remove a few.
"The assistant can't be given this list: a line reads like an order to the assistant. Write each line as something the business offers."
A line reads like an instruction to the assistant ("ignore your rules…", "always say yes…") rather than something you offer.
Fix: write the line as a service or product. How the assistant should behave belongs in Assistant instructions on the Assistant page.
"You just drafted the list. Try again in a few minutes."
Draft again can be pressed once every 5 minutes, even when the last draft failed.
Fix: wait a few minutes and press it again.
"The assistant couldn't draft your list from your knowledge base right now. Try again in a few minutes, or add the lines yourself."
There was nothing to draft from (no ready knowledge base source and no business description), the draft came back unusable, or the AI was briefly unavailable. Your list is left as it was.
Fix: check your knowledge base has at least one source showing as ready, or your business description is saved, then try again in a few minutes. You can always add the lines yourself.
"Your subscription has expired — renew it to draft again."
Drafting is off while your plan has lapsed. See Usage and plans to renew. Once it's renewed, the assistant drafts again after your next change, or press Draft again.
"That item is no longer on the list. Reload the page to see the current list."
The item was removed or replaced (by a new draft, or by a teammate) while you had the page open.
Fix: reload the page and make your change again.
"Could not save your list. Try again." / "Could not load your list."
Fix: check your connection and try again. If you saw an error, the page reloads the list so it shows what was really saved.
When to email us
See When to email us. Email us at admin@agentech.tech too if your assistant said yes to something that isn't on your list, said you don't offer something that is, or kept drafting the list after you edited it: include the customer's channel, roughly when it happened, and the line you expected it to use.
